In 1990, he joined Amcorp Group Berhad (Amcorp). He was responsible for the overall management of a high rise development project, Amcorp Trade Centre in Petaling Jaya, a 1.2million sq ft mixed development. He was also responsible for the development of the 400 acres Kayangan Heights in Shah Alam, the 1,000 acres Sibu Jaya Township in Sarawak.
In 2007, he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Amcorp Properties Berhad, a listed subsidiary of Amcorp. He was involved in the companys reorganisation exercise where he successfully turned-around the previously known AMDB Berhad into a focused, profitable business and re-branded it and known now as Amcorp Properties Berhad (AMPROP). He involved in a series of corporate exercises, including disposal of non-core and non-controlling businesses, rehabilitation of non-profitable divisions as well as acquisition of new businesses in different markets and regions, delivering much of the needed recurring profits for AMPROP.
He involved in expanding AMPROP property sector by venturing into overseas markets at prime central London, Tokyo, Madrid, Hong Kong and Singapore, and acts as principal liaison officer with reputable joint venture partners such as Temasek Holdings of Singapore and Grosvenor Group of UK.
He was instrumental in AMPROP Group's venture into Sustainable Renewable Energy Power Plants i.e. 6MW Sg Perting Mini Hydro Power plant, 10.25MW Gemas Solar Power Plant and 20MW Sg Liang Mini Hydro Power Plant, some of which have garnered awards and accolades.
He was an Exco member of KESAS Sdn Bhd, the operator of the Shah Alam Expressway. Currently, he is an Exco member of AmREIT Managers Sdn Bhd and a board member of the subsidiaries within Amcorp and AMPROP groups. He was appointed to the Board of AmBank Islamic Berhad on 3 July 2017 and is a Member of the Board Credit Committee of AmBank Islamic. |
