Axis REIT Managers Berhad, as the management company of Axis-REIT, is pleased to announce that the Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of RHB Trustees Berhad (for and on behalf of Axis-REIT) (“REIT Trustee”) had on 20 May 2025 lodged the Sukuk Programme with the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) pursuant to the SC’s Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework issued on 9 March 2015 and revised on 5 February 2024 (as amended and/or substituted from time to time) (“LOLA Guidelines”). The REIT Trustee (acting in its capacity as trustee for and on behalf of the unitholders of Axis-REIT) is the obligor under the Sukuk Programme and the Sukuk Programme allows the Company to issue senior Islamic medium term notes (“Senior Sukuk”) and/or subordinated perpetual Islamic notes (“Perpetual Sukuk”, together with the Senior Sukuk, the “Sukuk”).
RAM Rating Services Berhad has assigned long-term ratings of AA2(s)/Stable to the Senior Sukuk and A1(s)/Stable to the Perpetual Sukuk. The Company may issue rated and/or unrated Sukuk from time to time under the Sukuk Programme.
The proceeds to be raised from the Sukuk Programme shall be utilised by the REIT Trustee to, among others, finance capital expenditure (including development expenditure), working capital requirements, general corporate purposes and/or refinancing of existing borrowings/Islamic financings and/or future Islamic financing of Axis-REIT.
The Sukuk Programme will also give the Company the flexibility to issue sustainability Sukuk and/or sustainability-linked Sukuk.
