The Board of Directors of Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad (“MSC”) wishes to announce that the fire incident that occurred on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya has disrupted the production of tin metal from its Port Klang smelter after a gas pipeline explosion interrupted gas supply to the smelter.

MSC recognizes the challenges currently faced by its gas supplier due to the uncertainty surrounding the resumption of their operations. MSC remains committed in engaging with the relevant stakeholders such as the gas supplier and authorities, while actively working towards minimizing the effects of the disruption.

The financial effects from the disruption have not been determined at this juncture, but it is not expected to have a material impact on the Group’s earnings for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
